Yep, Charlie, they're the '32 to '34, 4 cyl cap. Suppliers have them, sometimes they call them the "HIGH SPEED"?? cap.The Model B ones used to be available. I would start by trying Renner's Corner, (734) 428-8424. What are the later Model A wires, a modern style cap with modern style wires?

Thanks, My Friend, for posting these! On a Model A with the original dist. body, these would arch up higher, thus helping the # 4 spark path in the body NOT to have a tendency to arc to # 3 connector strap. Because of the spark path routing in the body, # 4 is the ONLY one that has a tendency to arc out. If you study the body, on www.modelabasics.com ---You'll see why. There's a LOT of info on Paul's site! GREAT JOB, Paul! Bill W.Several vendors have these Bronze ones for Model B. Here is from Mac's website.

If used on a Model A dist, be sure to file the slot for the advance lever to match the width of the original Model A dist. body. (It's quick & easy!) Bill W.
That's NOT the one I talked about. The one in this pic is ALMOST like an "A" cap & still uses the brass strips. The one I use was probably used on '33 & '34-4 Cyl?? On page 121 in Mac's catalog, it is part # A12105M $25.95, complete with wires & 4 itty bitty nuts for the plugs. Bill W.Bill,
This site shows the correct '32-'34 cap, http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/bdistributordetails.htm It looks a lot like the Model A cap. Is this what you are talking about?

Thanks all for your responses. I would assume the modern cap and wires will perform better then the old type bronze ones but, the modern wires and cap just don't have the 'cool' factor the original type has.
model a, thanks for the info on Mac's. I have their catalog but don't order from them so I don't think about checking their catalog. Maybe I should start looking, just for reference.
Thanks again... Lou
Several years ago I bought a distributor body that "looks like" a standard A body, but would take modern style wires. That is what I'm using now. I haven't seen them in any of the new catalogs, don't know if they are still being made. Mine works fine!
Carl, I saw that type in a catalog somewhere in the past, with the little doolies on top to plug on regular wires.Several years ago I bought a distributor body that "looks like" a standard A body, but would take modern style wires.
