fuel level is supposed to be 5/8ths inch from the gasket surface. Use a clear tube from the main jet plug to get a visual of the level. There is a tool available from the suppliers for a Zenith that will work. Loose throttle shafts seem to be common on B carbs. They must fit well to avoid stalling when stopping.

If the power jet works, it will have faster acceleration. Broken power tubes are not uncommon. To perform properly, it should have a B manifold or an A manifold bored out 1/8th inch. You will see a bit of an improvement at high RPM, since it breathes better with the larger bore. But on an A manifold, it will only seem better if your stock A Zenith was not good. Follow the link for more info on the power jet tube:

Thank you all for B advice...I have one with missing power tube and one having power tube. Question: what can be used in place of power tube, can I cut off the tube of one old jet , same lenght and insert it as far down as it would go ? also, what jets require gaskets? these were purchased as is and all jets were in a bag. without gaskets. thank/John
