Model B block Q...

Has anyone ever seen a B ford block without a fuel pump attachment hole, AND with the 'outside' oiling tube?
Note: I'm looking at an engine to buy, where the guy CLAIMS several times that it IS a B block(it has outside oiler pipe and no fuel pump hole). I pointed out to him that it's an A block...no answer back yet:confused: Hmm, not being an 'expert'..now wonder if I am/could be in error.

sounds like an a block....

Thanks guys! Yeah, I've seen pics of the engine setup that he's selling...and it ain't cheap! Makes a guy wonder if he doesn't even know what the heck he's selling....how's he come to ask an arm/leg for it. Proof again that 'ignorance is bliss'...and can be expensive,eh;)!

The Model B engine needed a fuel pump cause the tank was in the back of the car. It also had a diffenent oil system that was a pressure oiling system. No need for the outside oil pipe. My B engine will run at almost 100 psi untill I added a relief valve. He is try to sell you an A Block, and mine is for sale. Iceman

Based on his knowledge about the A & B engines I would worry about his description of its condition.

Exactly!
He says that it's fully inserted and oil presurized . What attracked me is that he has an OHV head setup installed on it, and that's the type of
engine that I'm looking for! Hmm, what to do? Guess I can travel to take a look at it...that is, if he isn't a complete phony....as I asked for additional pics...nutin so far:confused:
