If it has the left hand brake it is an ar. The early a 's had the hole from it but the lever in the center.

Is it a 3 or 4, or 5 digit Win nr..??

The engine Nr... Or the id nr on your title...!! from that nr. you can se how early the Model A is...

I think he means the engine block number. Early model A's have shorter engine id numbers, like 3 digit, 4 digit and 5 digit numbers stamped on the driver side of the block. This assumes the engine hasn't been replaced. What is the body style - i.e. tudor, coupe, roadster, etc?

Can you post some pictures,? Please...!

Ok, yes April is early... as i remember is VE (very early) from Oct 27- 1 Jan 28. And Early 28 is from Jan 28-Jun 28..

So is it worth something , because if it is I will not take it apart for my other project.

Jake,

Yes it is worth something...then may be not...

To put an honest value on a car sight unseen is very (x 10) hard for us to do without visualy looking at the car.

Is there any one in your area that belongs to a Model A Club that can come over to your place and look at it? Then you can get a better idea of value.

There's way too may parts and unfinished hotrod projects out there already to have to take apart a complete car and loose another Model A.

AR is an arbitrary definition not a definitive one. It is generally used to describe early cars without separate emergency brakes. Except for the period fans others may be less interested as parts can be harder to find. That reduces the number of potential buyers. Generally early cars are worth only slightly more but since missing parts are harder to find any missing may reduce the value more than the increase. Result is not much difference in value than any Model A in like condition.

The term "AR" was started to be used in the 1970's to refer to an early 28 Model A. I believe it refers to a replacement part and not an early car and is an innaccurate definition. More recently we refer to an early 28 as an "early 28" and this usually refers to a left hand brake car or truck. My pick up is a june of 28 and has a left hand brake so I still refer to it as an early 28 because of all the early features were used up on the truck line.
In other words the "AR" should not be used to describe an early 28 vehicle.
