Hi I'm new to the site , I have been reading discussions on here for years and have now started getting involved. My fire department has a 1928 early AA we bought new and we had it restored about 10 years ago, It was done by a fire truck not Model a restorer BIG MISTAKE Any how i am trying to get the ford part of the truck back to original. The head lights were not correct so so we bought a set for the truck, they need to be restored and i was looking for someone i can send them to and have them do the light restoration .They are the AA truck lights with the black buckets and nickel rim I think the silver on the reflectors look great but am willing to have the whole light restored if needed.

I don't have any of the info. that your seeking however I thought you may enjoy this photo. A 1929 restored AA firetruck that I thought looks great!

It is from last weeks "My Classic Car" with Dennis Gage. Taken at The Back To The Beach Show on Lake Ponchatrain in Meterie LA earlier this year. The full episode is available at www.myclassiccar.com

Looks to me like some one just painted a pair of 28-29 Two light buckets.
The factory photo seems to show Bright buckets (not black) so its a matter of stripping the old ones, and having them replated in nickle. I could not expand the other attachment, But if you have good silvering on the reflectors, you are ahead of the game. On the other hand, I hear the reproduction complete headlights for around $350.00 are a pretty good buy. I think Fire trucks look better with all the bright work they can get. Chrome and nickle need less work that the red paint to stay looking good.
