Model A Wheel Colors website, buyer beware

I just wanted to put my experience out there with the company so that others can search and find out a little bit more about the company.

On October 14th I selected Apple Green powder and paid using PayPal. The money came out of my checking account out that day.

After calling for two days a lady picked up the phone and said that the order would be put in the mail tomorrow. That was on October 25th.

Their website says that they use US Priority Mail to ship all their orders.
USPS priority mail website says it would take two days from SeaTac Washington, where their shop is, to Cincinnati Ohio where I am. So I should have had the powder by October 27th.

I opened a complaint with Paypal to get my money back after that.
Today November 4, Paypal sent me a notice saying:

Dear Mr. Williams,

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favor.

We were able to recover $128.00 USD and this amount has been credited to you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges.

I was pretty fair with the company. I called a lot after October 27th. Multiple times a day, different days, different hours.

This is just my experience, but I don't want other people to pay and not get their money back.

Just my own 2 cents, I would never link my paypal directly to my bank account. Use a credit card in paypal- it's another level of protection. If you don't get what you paid for, you can contact the credit card issuer to get the charge removed.

First off . . . I'd never consider doing business with any outfit that uses fraudulent "global warming" cliche' hype in their sales pitch. That "climate change" nonsense should be an immediate red flag that these are scammers and not on the level.

So I've located a powdercoater/sandblasrer - and none of their color chips look anywhere close to Tacoma Cream. I was about to order from the folks above

Anybody got any ideas or other sources?

That's weird, as I drove thru their parking lot yesterday, and one one side they were sandblasting a 60's body, and on another side was filled with railings waiting to be processed. They are a large commercial shop, so I would assume commercial jobs take priority, however, that's not an excuse for such lousy service. I coordinated a two club workshop with the old owner, which got 6 wheels done in apple green for me for free, and the evergreen A's maffi restoration wheels done in black. I know jwhash had a lot of his A400 powder coated there as well. Shortly afterwards the owner retired an went to Hawaii, and I really haven't heard much since, up till now.

The problem has been reported here for years. But as long and they have an internet presence (They are even still in the sticky of vendors here on this site) we are going to see problems with poor souls that send them money. I wish there was a way to stop them.
