Model A Weights - Actual

BRENT in 10-uh-C

I know we sometimes say that a stock Model A roughly weighs 2400 lbs, ...but exactly where is this actually printed?

Is the numbers listed in printed media 'dry weight' as shipped (no fluids), ....or with oil, water, and maybe ¼ tank of fuel, --or ??

I really need to know several weights within 10% or closer on;
28/29 Roadster
30/31 Roadster
28/29 Coupe
30/31 Tudor

TIA.

I would suggest taking the cars to a weighing station for 18 wheelers or a metal scrap yard who might have a scale. I know that trash dumps weigh the trucks as soon as they come into the dump, so that's another place you could take the cars.

28/29 Roadster ... 2050 pounds
30/31 Roadster ... 2230 pounds (deluxe)
28/29 Coupe ... 2200 pounds
30/31 Tudor ... 2375 pounds

...from Henry's Fabulous Model A. Floyd Clymer.
I'm just guessing here Brent, but if they advertize a car's weight, they could be held to task if it wasn't delivered that way.
I think Henry would pick little or no gas ...in the interest of frugality.:p
Finally, a full tank wouldn't change your spec needs by more than 10%.

I appreciate all the help & guidance. Actually, I think that "curb weight" was the technical term that was used which (...if I am correct,) meant full of fuel & fluids. I suspect "ole Hank" was pretty accurate on his weight, ...I just don't know which bodystyle he chose to advertise that weight as.

We just finished restoring a '28 Roadster and shipped it this past Tuesday to Switzerland in a 20' metal container, but we just used 2400 pounds as the shipping weight of the car and estimated at the parts we also put inside the container. We really didn't try to get that close on it but the topic has come up before and I have thought that I might should start a file on fairly exact weights. We are finishing a Tudor and a Std Phaeton pretty soon so I guess I could start with those.
