Model A Trans Conversion

I have found a lot of info on converting a model A diff to open drive, but is there a way to convert a model a trans to open drive? Any info would be appreciated.

You could use the internals & rear brg retainer & yoke & install it in a model B case to get the open drive.Whats wrong with the TT drive? It worked fine on close to 5 million A,s & AA,s.

I don't know if its relevant, but a local car here converted to open drive using the F150 3+1 gearbox kept cracking/breaking the radius arm as the diff tried to rotate and he had to attach a bracket to the diff which connected to the cross member roughly where the radius rods connected to the gearbox to stop the diff from rotating.

I would think the U/J would be fixed at the transmission and a spline/coupler on the drive shaft for movement. That's how my 64 Ford F-100 short wheel base PU is.

How about a 42-47 Ford pickup 3 speed transmission. Same transmissin as the 39, but with open drive shaft rear shaft and retainer. Rod
