Model A roadster 29 doors, missing latches

Hi Guys,

My '29 Roadster has no door latches on.
They where pulled out long time ago and without any care of the door itself.
So the doors are pretty messed up around the latches.

Anyone having some photos of original roadster doors without the interior on it?
Or maybe drawings of a door.

I need to order new parts and I don't know how much and or if it's better to buy new doors.

Thanks!

Roadster doors seemed to have taken a beating around the latch area. Slamming, rough roads, etc took it's toll. Mine were in bad shape in that area. most of the "D" nuts were broken out & the sheet metal was cracked. I found some nice orig. latches & after welded up & repairing the cracks in that area I brazed the latches into place. This worked very well & it can't be seen after the door panel in in place. Trying to fix the area around the "D" nuts & welded them back into position so they line up can be a real problem. I spent close to 40 hrs each on my doors but they close & latch with a gentle push. Good luck, Perry

Thanks for your reply Perry.

I think I need to take away the outside doorskins
and then work on the insides to get new sheet metal in place and smooth on inside.
The outside door skin is bad at the bottom so replacement pieces is needed.

The problem is for me that I have nothing to compare with, like an original unmolested door.
Both sides are almost equal bad.

So if anybody has pictures of an original door I will be very happy to see them.

Thanks,
Andy

I can take some pictures when I get home. Mine were in bad shape also but I fixed them and the doors work very well.
