Model A rear bumpers

Santa brought some new stainless rear bumpers for my 29 coupe, polished nicely except for the side closest to the car and the plates that hold them together, that was left unpolished. Not sure what to do for that, the old ones look like they were dipped in black paint at the inner end and just left unpainted on the inside.
Suggestions?

Yes, the inner ends were dipped in paint, and the edges and backsides of original bumpers were NOT polished.
