Model A questions

Do the Model As use red water hoses or these black ones with a red stripe? Is it possible to remove the column drop on my 1931 Model A Deluxe Phaeton, because I'm tall and would need more space for the knees. I have some fear to do this, because the steering box is mounted to the frame and allowed no other angel of the column? Is that correct?
But there are cars without this drop and some have it? What can I do to damage nothing? My 1930 Cabriolet don't have this drop and I have perfect leg room and the Deluxe Phaeton is a little bid hard to drive for me. Thanks for your help, Alex

What year?

Is it possible to remove the column drop on my 1931 Model A Deluxe Phaeton, because I'm tall and would need more space for the knees. I have some fear to do this, because the steering box is mounted to the frame and allowed no other angel of the column? Is that correct?

Yes that is correct. The stresses on the colum while turning the wheel and leaning into turns can bend things.

But there are cars without this drop and some have it?

All A's, when built, had them.

My 1931 Deluxe Pheaton has the red hoses, the early 1930 Cabriolet has the black with red stripe. Is that correct?

The 1930 Cabriolet has the column drop removed and I have lots more leg room in it than the 1931 Deluxe with the drop installed.
Woulöd like to remove this, too, but it is lot of force needed to put install it to the clamp without this drop.
