Model A Quail

Not sure I completely understand your problem - a picture would help. Try putting a thin stainless washer/spacer at the radiator end of the hood shaft/rod (on the rod) where the rod enters the front hold-down bracket. The washer sits between the hold-down bracket and the first hood panel hinge and will move the hood panels back. I had to do this modification last weekend because the edge of the hood panels were hitting the tail of my quail. One member in our club uses a slice cut out of stainless steel tubing.

Thanks for the input regarding the washer. However, my problem is that my hinge rod is not long enough to fit into both the front and rear hold-down brackets when I move the radiator forward. I do like the idea of possibly using some tubing to extend it.

i think my quail is a 29 also. it is 4 3/4" long and 3" wide and almost 3" tall. nice condition for its age. no radiator cap, just the quail. are these really worth what was posted?
