Model a points block

Can someone provide me the size of screw, or set screw that is used on the original distributor point block, to hold the adjustment in place for the points gap.

description says:

Includes 8/32 x 5/16 screws and washers and one 6/32 x 7/16 fillister screw and lock washer.

1. Two screws to mount to the plate

2. One screw to clamp adjustment screw so it does not turn and change gap.

I guess that I do not understand the question ... OR nobody read this posting!

I believe he's talking about the threads on the movable screw half of the points themselves not the parts that hold the block in place.

The "original distributor point block" that came w/my A was part of the top plate, no fasteners needed.

Dkrahn, if you are looking for the screw that mounts vertically to hold the movable point screw from opening & closing the gap, it is a 6/32 X5/8" round or fillister head screw with a lock washer. If it is much longer than that, it may bottom out on the upper plate before locking the point screw tight enough.

Katy, if you want your point contacts to align perfectly, order the 12160-X Point Block from Snyder's. I've ordered new points from two different sources and neither had the correct arm length. Both were too long. I believe the only source for new points is in Mexico and they refuse to correct the problem (according to Snyder's). I installed the new block and it works great.

katy,
I have a one piece forged breaker plate like yours. I was told these only came on the early '28 cars and then the design was changed to the stamped steel design - probably to save mfg. costs. If that's true, then those plates might be coveted by owners needing it for judging correctness. I was recently asked if I wanted to sell mine by an early '28 owner so they might be in short supply.
