Model A pickup

-
I purchased Ford Barn member Mll1446's Model A Pickup. I also got to meet his mom and brother. Great people. Mike worked with me on an extended time frame to get the truck because the weather would not cooperate.

This truck is just what I've been looking for, nice driver that looks good and in my afforability (is that a word?) range. 4 hours over and 4 hours back but no problems and it was well worth the trip..... I live in a recreational lake area and a lot of people are driving the RV type vehicles. I wanted something with a little more class, and this is it. I have already had a couple of people stop by and ask me about the truck. It seems like people are just drawn to the Model "A" pickups.

Thanks Mike and family for helping me cross another "Bucket List" item off of my list..... :)

DON'T do a complete tear down unless you have the shop space/money to complete the restoration.

Better to take off a piece, do a restoration, and then put it back.

I'm working an AA truck according to this methodology - and even so there is a temptation to do "more than one item."

Which will be my downfall if I'm not careful.

All it takes is time...

Looks like fun - go have fun.

Thanks Joe. I have built a multitude of cars and trucks in my 83 years so I know exactly what you are talking about. This truck is a "maintenance and drive" vehicle, that is why I was so picky when looking for a driver Model A pickup.

Leon, Great looking pick-up. If I could get into one compfortably I would like to have one.

I see you have a battery maintainer connected. I always connect mine when my Town Sedan parked. I place it on my left side running board so I don't forget about it and drive away with it connected, haha. Almost did it once!:eek:

What a great find enjoy it maintain it and drive it you will enjoy it and it will never fail to put a smile on your face!!!

In my club we call that "Smilage". Smilage=While driving your Model A, you put Smilage on your face and everyone around you.

Thanks everyone. I am a small guy so I don't have any trouble getting in and out of it.

The smileage is going to be very evident on my end for sure.... ;)

Good looking pickup. Pickups are hot right now and sought after. People just seem to enjoy a good ole American pickup of almost any vintage.

The only thing i would do would be to get rid of those reflectors.I find them to be a bit tacky looking on old cars

What reflectors? The only reflector I see is at the top rear of the cab, but that may be a brake light.
I suspect you are referring to the old style "clearance" lights that are probably being used for turn signals.
