Model A paint colors

I have two "official" booklets on Model A colors and both sets of color chips are extremely darker than real cars. Does anyone know where I can find accurate color chips AND how do you translate the color to Dupont Nasco formula for my paint shop? thanks, Larry

Cut a square hole in the center of a dark sheet of paper and place it over the color chip and see what a big difference it makes. I was also fooled by the light background and had to mix 1 pint of black to the pint of green to get the dark green I thought I saw in the color chip when I was picking a color to paint a small steam engine.
