Model A Ignition Miss Mystery?

Tom,
How do you ground the distributor housing in the aluminum block? Do you rely on a friction fit or a set screw of sorts?

Yes, I have an Allen head set screw in the rear of the aluminum mounting block. I used to demonstrate the importance about not having the lock screw too tight, as it can distort the distributor enough to make the shaft bind. Now the shaft and bushings have loosened up enough that when I tried this demonstartion in Chicago a few weeks ago, I couldn't make the shaft bind. Anyway, the body to aluminum block and lightly tightened setscrew offer a good ground.

Steve: Thanks for a great offer. If you could send some switches that would be great. thanks Dick Hansen. dickger-31@wi.rr.com Thank you Tom for all of your articles and pictures of things you build. I would never be able to do what you do and I really admire all of your expertise. I have one of your voltage regulators on my generator and it works just super!
