Model A-Hole

Actually, question on a hole on a model A. On my 30 Sport Coupe, there is a small hole on each door, lower front corner under the lower hinges. The hole appears to be located exactly in the same spot on each door. During the car restoration, the holes have been left as is and I am wondering what they would have been for. I have seen similar indications in a couple of photos. Does anyone know what they were for, assuming they are original?

A poor place to let water out , not original? I haven't seen in other cars

They really look like they are there for a purpose, but I fear they should have been filled in.

you should have three drain holes on the very bottom of the door
not visible from the outside
look under the door,or if the upholstery is off .look inside the door
there should not be any holes on the outside of the door that is visible

Can someone post photos of the correct location of door drain holes ? My CCPU does not have any.
