I rent another building. (eureka, the house is full!) Does that count? I DO NOT have a problem. I do not think I am keeping good stuff out of circulation, as I sometimes provide stuff for restorations and stock A's, but no sheet metal for rodders. Anybody have a problem with that?![]()
Man Huckster. I don't care what they call it; hoarding, OCD. What you have is true unobstructed focus! I vote you for pres. Amazing!
My name is Harry and I am a parts hoarder.......![]()
I wouldn't sell some parts/cars to guys if I knew they were going to rod them. some stuff is to nice and deserves to be on a restoration. I also wouldn't take a clean car and ruin it by making it a hot rod. I have seen a lot of guys buy a stock model A, take off the body, sell the rest, and build a hot rod. It makes me sick. That's why I started with this....something someone else already ruined.
Harry.. are you part of the 12 step Betty "Ford" program![]()
I prefer to call it maintaining "inventory" instead of Hoarding. I know for sure that there are one or two parts in "inventory" that I really need. I just don't know what they are right now. Or if I can even find them! That is half the fun.
I sold off a couple of trailer loads of nice A & T parts way too cheap about 10 years ago because of a health problem that made me think my future in wrenching was over. My health got better and my memory is too good to ever forget the sell-off.
My motto: What's one man's junk is.... something I might be interested in!
