Model a fordor Murray question

Hi, I am looking for b pillars for a 1931 slant cowl fordor Murray and found some from a 1929 Murray bodied fordor. The parts are some distance and before I travel 4 hrs or ha e them shipped I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the b pillars were different from 1929 to 1931

Thanks

The door posts are not interchangeable, as the earlier models had wooden floor sills and doorposts; the 1931 slant windshield fordors had both steel flooring and door posts - no wood bracing in either. Hope this helps.

You might as well try to fit parts from a Chevrolet as to fit straight WS parts to a slant.Another thing that you may or may not know,is the slant bodies are the same. They were built by Murray,Ford, and Briggs, and the parts are interchangeable. That's unlike the earlier three years, where Briggs only fit Briggs, and Murray only fit Murray. That thing with the door window shapes on the earlier ones does not apply to the slants.I've seen guys insist they had a Murray slant because their windows had an arch to them. All three body makers of the slant made them the same. There are manufacturing differences that are unimportant to the everyday A guy.

Do you know if the profile is the same as I can always fabricate the lower or upper connection points?

Here's a couple of pictures of a pair of '29 posts (I sold several years ago) for your comparison. 1929's are basically just sheet metal attached to a structural wood base as others have noted.

When Ford updated for the new 31 slant windshield Fordor bodies, they required that Briggs and Murray bodied be basically the same. They may not have been totaly interchangeable but it's possible that they many parts are.
