thanks, I was going to use a pinto 2.0, but it ain't the same as a banger, but at 79 I need to go to a automatic in current project.
What??? A Chevrolet in a Ford. Acually I would love a Chevy 11 engine from the early 1960's. Being nostslgic.Try going to the "Hot Rods and Customs Forum". It will take you to another site. Do some searches on that site. You will probably find more there on what you are trying to do. Here is a direct link to their forum section: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/the-hokey-***-message-board.5/
I have a '32 roadster with a Chevy II engine but its is hooked up to the early Ford transmission. I put it in 40 years ago because at that time I couldn't find any shop to do a good job rebuilding the original engine. If I was doing it today I would use an original engine with a little speed equipment.

If you do use a Pinto engine, just use a stock Model A muffler, and it will sound almost the same as a Model A engine.thanks, I was going to use a pinto 2.0, but it ain't the same as a banger, but at 79 I need to go to a automatic in current project.

We used an A4LD out of a Ford Ranger Pick Up, has an overdrive and is working really well for us.
John, who makes the adaptor for that trans?
A company called Speed Gems out of Michigan I believe. They have a website, they put together a complete kit.

Carl,
On our website you will find installation instructions for the Model A to Chev automatic installation. I direct you to that as the instructions are very similar and will give you an idea of the steps required. There is a kit available for the Model A to A4LD and it retails for $1495.
