I have a 1930 Model A closed cab pickup with the following engine and body number.

Body No. SFAA 2229
Engine No. A2639361

I live in Hawaii. The pickup is from California. Can anyone tell me the date that the body was assembled. I am guessing that it was assembled in California. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

There is no way to determine just when your 1930 CCPU body was assembled (it should be of the 28-29 style CCPU Body).

Does it have the "screw-on" gas cap flange or the new 1930 "easy-on" gas cap flange on the gas tank?

However the engine number you provided was assembled in Dearborn on November 14, 1929 IF IN FACT it is an original stamped engine and not a restamp.

The pickup may have taken anywhere from 10-15 days or up to three months for the
pickup to be assembled.

See my website under Bill Of Sales and go to the San Francisco Assembly Plant information and you can get a good idea of the assembly process, time wise.

looking up the engine number on steve pluckers site (thanks Steve)
plucks329s.org
your engine was stamped on Nov 14,1929 (one of 7,679 that day)
and assembled at san francisco
it probably was assembled around the 1st week of december 1929
with your low SFA number that seems about right

Thanks for everyones input. The gas cap is the 30's style. I am going to lift the cab to check the frame no. Excellent info on Steve's site.

Aloha, Wes
