I will ask a stupid question. Is there a different fixture for the rods?

yes there is. I don't do Rods... and most other Model A Babbit engine rebuilders don't either. You need rod straightening fixters, babbitt, boring, etc. You are better off buying them from Pauls Rods or another reputable supplier. You're better off doing your own blocks as they are difficult and expensive to ship, rods are not.
