Model 50 shock arms

The other day a bunch of good info on shocks was posted on the Model A forum. I have had this arm around for awhile, but was unsure of the application. The link provided seems to suggest it is for a Model 50 based on the shape and the 7 1/2" center to center measurement given. No pic which shows if the Model 50 has a square shaft or a splined shaft. So I am asking here if this is correct for a model 50? Also what year and body style is a Model 50? Most of my books are more into the model A than flathead (possibly 1935 big truck or pickup based on the limmitted library I currently have). Thanks Rod

Rowdy, If the shock arm pictured above is 7 1/2" from center to center it is a 50-18052 arm used by Ford in 1935 and 36. It was used when the rear spring had 13 leaves in it for heavy duty loads. The more common rear arm was the 48-18052-B arm and it was 7" from center to center.

Hello Rod,

I looked in my trusty Ford Parts Book (see attachment). It looks like it is a '35-36 pickup or station wagon rear shock arm.

Jerry
