36 is missing on 2 centre cyl on driver side and 2 end cyl on pass side..When i ground them out with car running makes no differenceas other 4 do..I had some carb problems due to old gas but after cleaning it up car ran beautiful for a couple days.I feel it is more goo in carb but why only these4 cyl..Plugs very dirty from runnig to rich when i removed to clean..Put 4 new ones in but no difference. Seems like lots of fire when i ground it out..STUMPED

first thing run a compression check, two cylinder next to each other missing usually means a blown head gasket, burnt or stuck valves, im not saying thats your problem but check compression before going on or doing any thing else

Sounds like you have fuel supply issues with the passenger side venturi in your carb . Looking at a 34 intake the cylinders you have dead are the 4 fed by the RIGHT barrel on your carb .

There's a similar thread on here (if not it's the hamb) on the same subject.

Sounds like you need to strip and clean the carb again.

Here in the UK we have some Lucas distributors that have twin points where one set runs four cylinders and the other the other 4. This can cause the same problem, but in your case, as long as you are using a Ford didtributor it can only be the carb causing it.

Take the idle adjusting screws out and blow out the holes with compressed air. Put screws back in and adjust. Should fix it.

I agree with David J. Had a Falcon with 289 engine and autolite 2 barrel carb in some time back with exact same problem. " Mechanic ", had told him it needed a valve job for some massive price. Same type manifold design as flathead, each barrel feeding 2 cylinders on each side. Told him to disassemble and clean the carb, which he did and the problem was instantly solved.

i presume you have taken a compression test on all and recorded them ..
the flattie does have a tendency to build up soot under the valve seats allowing loss compression..,,however if you have no spark at any particular plugs you have an ignition problem my 2 cents worth from experience..
