Minnesota '42 Tonner Panel

This was loaded up yesterday morning and will be delivered to me here in Western Washington on Sunday. Seller claims he didn't know if the engine was stuck or not. Looks untouched and complete other than the oil bath. Seller worked up a temporary roller axle as it's shot and one side is missing everything from backing plate out. I have a good rear axle from a wrecked '47 tonner pickup. It's been under a trailer here for a few years. I just did the brakes, brake lines and seals on this axle in anticipation of the panel's arrival. I also have a nice hood here, a set of brand new freshly painted grille jailbars along with a couple of good 59 ABs if needed. It will need some rust repair, which I have a moderate amount of skill at. I also have numerous 17" tires and wheels along with some hubcaps and one of my FTE buddies just shipped me a couple of brand new 7.50 x 17s steer tires for the price of shipping only. He only restores MH 4wd trucks, so they were 'taking up space'. Thanks, Stu. No plans for a concourse restoration, but it will be fixed up, driven, kept in a shed, NOT rodded and preserved for a future generation. I'll get some more pics when it arrives. Been a long time since I've owned a tonner, my favorite size truck. Well, I do own a '59 F350 flareside if that's a 'tonner'.

I built mine because I found a beautiful 9' flareside bed being sold as a trailer. Then I bought a '59 f350 stakebed, set the bed aside for a future project and installed a sterling 10 1/4 rear axle from a '92 dually pickup. I later converted the front 6 lug hubs to 8 lug to match. Then I installed a cummins 6at 220 cu in turbo diesel from a UPS truck with a gm 4 speed manual trans. This is the only hot rod I have ever built. Well at 120 hp, maybe it's not really a hot rod. We're in the wrong page for this truck. It's in the '57-'60 page on 'Ford truck enthusiasts' build thread called 'kinda like a hot rod, but it isn't hot'

I got the rear axle in it the day after it arrived. Then cleaned out the interior and mounted the front tires after I cut the old rags off the rims with a sawzall and an angle grinder. The wood floor is like new. Still have a long ways to go, but it's here and it's a good roller now. Yesterday I got the original parking brake cable hooked up to the cables on the axle.
