Mini Stroke

They kept me for a week and did not find anything which led to more tests. Which did not find anything more. And like i said The Neurologist said it fixed itself.

First one I had I went in my blood pressure was 247 over 121 they give me nitro and sent me home I went back it two days latter and did a MRi
 
Kind of. like diagnosing Flathead problems. Expert A says it is a B problem.Expert B says it is an A problem, and then it turns out to be something completely different.

For years Doctors like myself took Aspirin assuming that as it was good for people with cardiovascular disease (including mini strokes) it was good in preventing events in healthy people as well . The studies actually show that aspirin in healthy people causes more problems than it prevents, So most have us have stopped taking it , However if you have cardiovascular disease its a no brainer . It works by preventing your platelets clumping over the break in your cholestrol plaque and blocking the artery. People who present with chest pain /possible heart attack get an aspirin to chew on before they leave my surgery in an ambulance for hospital , In hospital they may or may not get other powerful blood thinning agents to dissolve their clot or even emergency blood vessel stenting -Karl

If the Dr tells you to try a GANO hose filter (or a piece of nylon stocking) at least you'll know he's one of us!
 
Lawson, Your Dr. will, should, put you on Plavix, a platelet anticlumper- probably the cause of your mini stroke. But then who listens to an old Medic like me?
 
I had several of those, and then had a scan of my head. Besides sawdust, they found a almost clogged artery in my neck. The VA hospital did a good job repairing it. Doctor said it was going to cause a major stroke if it were not fixed.
 
UPDATE ON MINI STROKE


Had another today. Re-run of Sunday. Will see doctor tomorrow etc. All prayers greatly appreciated.
 
I don't know you outside of here and I enjoy what you post. Modern medicine is amazing. Take it easy, prayers sent your way.
