Mileage doesn't work, easy fix?

My speedo works but my mileage indicator isn't working. This is a 29 ford. Easy fix? What should I look into or should a pro look at it?

I suggest that you take the speedometer cover off and see if one or more of the internal shaft bushings has fallen out. If so, it will be captured inside the case so it won't be lost. When the odometer wheels stop turning and the speedometer still functions, that is what generally occurs. The loose bushings can easily be re-installed. I have used a very small amount of model airplane thick "CA" glue to retain the bushing after cleaning with thinner. Lubricate the mechanism while you have it apart. Gar Williams

I am new to the Model A world and to this Forum - am still in the process of acquiring reference materials and thought I'd bring a question here in the meantime.

My wife and I just acquired an early 1930 Tudor with the oval speedometer. Noticed that the odometer is not working. The speedometer works. The trip reset MAY have not been pushed all the way in - would this affect whether the main odometer works? Or just the trip odometer?

Thanks!
