grinnin

I recently purchased a 1939 pickup in unrestored but road-worthy condition and I've been grinnin ever since. Although I've owned a half dozen Model-A's this new fangled V-8 is a whole new ballgame.
This morning I made a 3 stop trip (cafe, post office and hardware store) and the old girl ran like a champ! Back at home I find that I couldn't turn the key to unlock the steering wheel. What the heck! Everything was good this morning. After shaking the wheel, jiggling the key and cussing the sweat in my eyes (Texas 104 degrees) I thought about the Ford Barn.
I searched for "locked" and "key" and found that 32phil, JM 35 Sedan, Charlie Stephens and Deuce Lover among others has helped L78 Chevelle with the same problem in January, 2012.
Went back to my truck and followed their advise. After shaking the wheel a little more I gave the key hole a healthy shot of lube and the key rolled right over. BIG GRIN !!!
Although this was a simple fix it reminded me of what a great resource this site is. I appreciate Ryan for establishing it and tip my Stetson to all who lend a hand with their experience and knowledge.
Thanks, Charlie
