For 2 yrs now I have been adding these cheap aluminum disposable serving containers under my jack stands when I raise her up for the winter. Knock on wood no mice. Yes I do use traps and bait also in the shop.

Moth Balls:

One (1) box on front seat & (1) on back seat of 1930 Town Sedan -- after 36 years of known use of same from former owners:

Absolutely, no moths, no mice, nor rats, no snakes, no politicians -- just one (1) experience!

do you have a stinky interior from the balls?

Hi Mitch,

Moth Ball Smell?

Yes, and it appears that new boxes smell stronger at first when initially opened; but after a few months, the moth ball smell is less.

Either spray can type auto scent, or sealed auto scent cards, opened & placed in the car immediately before driving can cover moth ball smell fairly well; especially with the windshield & windows opened.

Had a neighbor years ago with an original 1932, (50,000 original miles), Chevrolet for her only car -- rats often lived in her car when she would forget & cease putting out rat poison.

However, with no rat holes in my seats, appears that moth balls might smell better than her seats did when they were soaked with fermented rat urine.

There may be a better product; but at present, I rather not take a chance with rats & moths.

May I suggest and easy method.. Dryer sheets...the same kind you put in with your clothes when drying them... simple, pleasant smell done and done..Moth balls...Oh the smell the smell

Hi Mark,

Thanks.

Lots of moths around.

1, Do you know if these dryer sheets keep moths out as well as the moth balls do?

2. Is there a particular brand of drier sheets recommended that works well to keep moths, rats & mice out?
