I am about ready to mount my tire on my rims. I installed metal valve stems, correctly I hope. Now I am having second thoughts about using the rubber rim liners I bought. It seems like there might be a problem with the ends of the bridge washers cutting into the rubber rim liners and maybe cutting the liners in two. The bridge washers aren't sharp one the ends, but it seems like there would be substantial pressure on the rim liners, possibly cutting into them. Is using rubber rim liners (to protect the tubes from the welded spokes) the correct thing to use when using metal valve stems? Thanks for any help with this.
