:confused:While watching a Robert Redford movie last night I noticed he was driving a M100 Twin I Beam Mercury pickup truck. :o Never even knew there was such a thing. Anyone here got one. Was this a flathead. I'm not a truck nut so I don't know what year make it was. kelly

It was most likely a Canadian built Mercury truck, if it was a Twin I Beam it was built in the 60's I would think...?

Yes last flathead was in 53.I am just starting to rebuild my 53 M-100 with the flathead engine. Only going with miner bolt in updates . Power steering T-5 trans disc brakes.

Maybe I don`t get out much but I have never seen a 54 with a flathead although I do agree the books state 54 in Canada.

I run a 1954 Meteor (Mercury Spec.) engine in my pickup. By 1954 the Merc's had gone to overhead valve engines, in Canada.

I have seen , twice, a 1954 Canadian convertible, don't remember the model, but it some American, and some Canadian trim, and it was a flathead. Some one in the Seattle area bought it from the original( I believe) owner, just across the border. I saw it at the early ford V8 picnic in Bellevue.
