Rick, I'm also a Vet, U.S. Army 24 March '69 to 17 March '71. Enjoy the weekend, hope everyone gets a chance to drive a Flathead.

Take time to think and pray for those we have lost and those still POW/MIA. Check your local paper for Memorial weekend activites. Join in. Monday at 3 PM is the National Minute of silence to remember.

Rolling Thunder is this weekend in DC. 400,000 bikes expected. Checktheir website. This is a stuning and powerful event!

You beat me to it Vic. I'm a pup respectively, Marine Corps 82-86. As I took apart my 39 P/U for restoration, I could not help but think the men who assembled this truck and these parts probably served in WWII.

On Monday, I will install my freshly restored steering wheel/box assembly in there honor. Done by someone alot more talented than me:D. Scott

I never served ( 4-F ) during the Vietnam era but, to all thanks and to all out there, have a safe weekend and enjoy our freedom!

I too am a Viet Nam vet (heavy arty 70-71) and still think of some friends and brothers that didn't make it back. Hats off to real heros.

The men who built your truck most likely built jeeps or tanks faster than anyone ever thought possible. Without them we could not have won. A war is won by a nation not just solders, although nothing can compare with the sacrifice of our solders.

Memorial Day has only one purpose ... to remember and honor those who died in service to their country.

It's not about us. It's sure not about who built the trucks and jeeps.

It is about those who gave all their tomorrows for us and died in our place.

I am stunned on how many people at my school don't know the true meaning about memorial day. It's not about a "3 day weekend", not about the normal men and women of our country, it's about the war veterans who gave their lives yesterday, so we could see freedom today. Both my grandpa's served in WW2, and the Korea war. And i love them a hell of alot for what they did for us!

My brother was 2/26 Marines carried M-60. If I remember right it was Nov 66 to May 67. Spent time at the same places you did. Was wounded by mortar off Hill 180. Convalesced Great Lakes then to Quantico. I was Nam October 70 to October 71. Went over as artillery and assigned to Quad 50s. Then on to Supply truck driver all over I Corp. Anywhere from Chu Lai to Phu Bai, Quang Tri, Dong Ha, LZ Stud, Khe Sanh.

Bless all our brothers MIAs, KIAs and POWs from all wars. You are gone but not forgotten. And those who are lost, rest in peace brothers.
