Tinman, you mentioned an article on building hucksters/wooden body runabouts with model chassis from back in the day. I haven't sat down in the library archives yet to try to find this article, but google doesn't find it. Do you have a year in mind, or an issue. The county library has these from the 50's, but I can't seem to narrow it down. Your help would save me alot of extra research time. Thanks for any leads. The huckster I have must be a local adaption/one of a kind. Bob

The local Branch research ladies spent about 20 minutes of their valuable time on the computer under beach comber wagon/ estate wagon and then referred me to the Pleasant Hill main branch. They thought an issue by issue search of the original magazines was worthwhile.
Had an uncle who built a chassis into a jitney to run around Norton AFB (San Bernardino, CA) in the 50's. He might have been guided by this type of article. Thanks for any help out there.

The article you are refering to is in the October 1950 issue of Mechanics Illustrated. The title of the article is "$350 Station Wagon". If you cannot find the magazine, I will copy the article for you. Mike Miller Springfield, OH
