Mechanical Brake Adjustments

With my '33, the front brakes groan to a stop. I have heard this is a common problem for these years, and also heard that the shoes may be out of alignment.
Could someone go through the shoe alignment process, and are there any special tools required?
Thanks

Their is an New Zealand fix for mechanical brakes that evens out the issues and will consistently let the brakes work together like hydraulics. I found the guy one day on the net and ordered the kit for about $225 45 minutes per wheel to install. so my 32-37 roadster can lock em all up if I want to. "all steel, toe to wheel" H.F. cant yet compare with my 32cab/40-47 juice job. maybe next year I will be on the road with it. misplaced the the box so can't help you with the address. Google will help you find him. good luck

Enter 'Flathead Ted' into google and his site will come up, Ted will probably reply to your question on ths site.

He might chime in, i put his floaters on my 36 pickup, you can get them at Macs.
my brakes also groaned, but last July i did a brake job, had the shoos relined, and the drubs turned and shoos arked. also installed Flathead Ted's floaters, the old truck stops real good, Brendan

The groaning can just be surface rust on the drums. A turn around the block with a couple of stop signs should take care of that.
