Can anyone tell me what to use in the channel behind the front door on my '39 that the windlace staples to? Mine is gone. It looks like a fiber sort of thing in a friend's '39 coupe. Thanks in advance, Rod

you can purchase a replacement made out of plastic to go in the channel from restoration supply in pa.

Measure the channel width and depth. See which one will fit. https://www.bobdrake.com/tackingstrips There are ways to attach it (pop-rivets, metal tabs, sheet metal screws).

I agree with Alan, post #2.

Lebaron Bonney sells a plastic replacement. It is available in numerous dimensions. The plastic type holds staples very well.
