Where is a recommended place to buy top material for open cars - by the yard rather than as a kit?

Mike at Classtique Upholstery sells yard goods. Good guy to deal with if not exactly in your neck of the woods. +1 651-484-9022, mike@classtiqueupholstery.com. Check their website classtiqueupholstery.com. He’s in Minnesota, USA - Central Daylight Time right now, switches to Central Standard Time this Sunday (Nov 2).

Haartz Stayfast and other top materials are available from other sources but Classtique is experienced in the Fords of the model A and T eras so they know what would work best as replacements for early Fords where original materials are no longer available. Most folks go with the next closest option. Folks that want more authenticity may have to have stuff custom made for their needs.

Hello. The stayfast material is on the 49 Buick , compare to the Roadster picture so you can see the difference between them

Haartz has Stayfast, Stayfast C, and Twillfast. They have different weaves and some differences in layered materials. Colors on the Haartz website are somewhat limited. The colors offered by Classtique have some differences that aren't shown by Haartz but that's who made them. Mike at Classtique is accessible and should let a person know all about his offerings.

Hello again, the original material used on the deluxe models with tan tops supposedly had a slight green cast , olive drab , as mentioned in judging standards. I believe Classitques has this material available. Also original many cars from the 1930 and ‘40s were either Black or Tan .On GM cars the date plate is marked with what was originally on the car .
