Master cylinder

I've had a complete disc brake set up from Drop-n-Stop for my '55 sitting on the shelf for a few years. At the time I ordered it with the power brake option, but have since decided to go with a manual MC instead. This winter it's on my to-do list to finally get it hooked up.

On the old site there were several threads with recommendations for manual disc/drum MCs, but I think they're all gone now. I couldn't find anything with a search here. Anyone have a favorite? I checked out Wilwood and, while they have a good rep, the prices are pretty hard to swallow. Two possible options I've found on the interwebz are a '67 Mustang and '74 Maverick MC.

I don't know of this is compatible with the disks you have, but I went to a Granada disc brake setup on my 54 and used the Granada manual master. 1980 Granada. Make sure this is compatible with your set up.

Thanks Jeff. Afraid I'll have to find another source, though. They want $50 to ship it to AK.

Making your own adjustable M/C pushrod is easy. Use the pushrod that comes with your Raybestos unit and cut it in half. Thread the end of the rod with the ring on it and toss the other half you cut off in the round file. Go to Home Depot and buy a short length of the same steel rod. Cut it to length, thread one end and grind down the other end to a blunt tip (like the piece in Jeff's Ebay link) then connect the two together using the appropriate rod coupling nut and lock it in with a jam nut. Bam....now you have an adjustable pushrod that won't lock into the M/C and be a bear to get out. I did the same thing to my '54. I'd post a pic but not sure how to on this site.

To post pic here, it looks like all you have to do is do a copy/paste. I tried it from a pic on ebay and one from my computer and both worked. Comes out BIG though
