Thanks for the advice guys. The MMO worked great! The girlfriend.....I wouldn't trade her for a roadster. She's perfect.I know what's wrong with the brakes. The shoes are the wrong ones. The ends of the linings are worn on the ends almost to the rivets and the centers are a full 3/16 inch.Front brakes have long and short shoes and the rears are all long shoes. My guess is that they are made for a larger diameter drum. But they work. So for now,I'll just drive it.

Tell her not to drive your car It's yours. That is why I have straight shifts in all my cars she can't shift gears

My valves have been a little noisy lately(1936 221 c.i.) so my girlfriend and I decided to go to the parts house and that she would drive the coupe.Within 2 blocks she started complaining about the brakes."Your brakes suck! This car doesn't stop at all like my car and I'm afraid to drive it!You really should fix them! What's wrong with this car? I don't feel safe driving it!" So,does 4 ounces of oil to 10 gallons of gas sound about right?

Ain't no Additive gonna drown out the Sound of a Girlfriend ...

Sound of a Woman Complaining is not the Sound of Music

a couple squirts of Visine in her iced tea will quiet her down for a few hours. :D
But I would wait until she is done driving your car.

Thanks Blu...But then she would say "It's too loud AND it won't stop!" I'd get confused and wonder if she's talking about the car or herself.

Dear Abbey,
I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision.

I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs...phone rings, but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently, although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them."

I sometimes stay awake to look out for her cab coming home, but she always comes walking up the drive as I hear the sound of a car leaving, around the corner, as if she has gotten out and walked the rest of the way. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi at all?
I once picked up her cell phone, just to see what time it was. This caused her to go completely berserk. She quickly snatched the phone out of my hand and cursed me hysterically, screaming that I should never touch her personal property, then accused me of trying to spy on her.

Anyway, I have never broached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her. I decided I was going to park my 40 Ford Sedan next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the street around the corner when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my car that I noticed a small amount of motor oil leaking from the cotter pin on the oil pan.

So...is this something I can easily repair myself or do you think I should take it to be fixed?

You know Chris I'd go ahead and fix it yourself....Heven knows you got the extra time...But another way of looking at it ,,,your saving a lot of money not having to take the wife out for dinner n drinks......Almost a toss-up........
This is just my opinion ....Carl in SoCal

It is always about the money.....if your car is broke it takes money to fix it. If your women makes noise just buy her some jewelry and she will quiet down. :D
