Hello , I had zero success finding working shocks so I have started going through ones that leak, are stuck etc to send to the rebuilders and started really looking at them and there are markings stamped into all the gennie type ones . On the machined surface that sits against the frame on the 33 F & R and 34 R type there is what I think is a date - 8-33 on one pair , 12-33 on another pair , 4-33 on another pair and 2-34 on another pair !!???!! There is also a capital A or B that matches the marking on the cap that unscrews to get at the adjuster on the other ear . As you hold the shock with the shaft facing you and with the fill plug up the letter A or B is above the left attachment stud and the 4-33 is above the right !!???!! This may be old news to you folks but I have never really looked shocks over that closely before . They either worked or not and the correct type for 33-34 are EASY to tell so you don't really need to look close . I would guess that my core shocks aren't unique and there are MANY others like them . Thoughts ? Still need a front tack strip segment for my 33 5w . Bought one last Feb from a CROOK in CA that took my money and never sent it - GRRRRRR
