Dave I do not know you but that doesn't matter because GOD knows his children. I and the family have had you in our prayers since the post I to am a survivor of cancer also, it is a terrible illness I was told at 38 years old of mine and thought my time was over. The Doctors told my if they hadn't found mine and it was by accident they found it that I would have had 2 months....now I am 42 and still cancer free I know it is tough, there are times you just want to give up, been there done that, so don't quit fighting you have a great life still ahead with your Son starting school, my Son had just started high school when I was told and I wanted so badly to see him complete his high school education so I have got to see him graduate and also start his collage ambitions so don't NEVER GIVE UP!! you can beat this awful disease have faith, I do believe in the power of prayer so we will continue to pray for you and your family and your quick recovery. Hi Dave,
It is great to hear you are at home. I know that always makes one feel better.
Our prayers are with you and your family.
I was recently reminded you were the young couple in Itasca on your honey moon in 1985 at our national meet. I worked that meet and remember thinking what a great woman to marry if she goes to a National Meet for her honeymoon. That means you are celebrating your 25th Anniversary this year. CONGRATULATIONS!!

Our prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time,
I look forward to seeing you in San Diego,
Ken and Helen

Dave,

So glad to hear that you're home from the hospital and it sounds like you're moving in the right direction! I've had you in my thoughts daily since I heard about the surgery. Although I've not yet had the opportunity to meet you in person, I've known your name for years and have always associated it with authenticity and attention to detail. I have great respect for you and your dedication to "getting it right", and just wanted to let you know how much I (and hundreds of others) appreciate your contributions to the hobby.

Hold your head high and keep fighting! Hopefully I can make it to San Diego next year and finally get to meet some of you guys!

Thank you all. A friend just read all of your posts to me and helped me with a couple responses to others.
I repeat that your support is helping me a lot. I'll check in again in a few days.

Dave, I'm so glad that your surgery went well and that you are home. When I saw you at the LBMTC swap meet, last month, I did not know that your cancer had come back and that you were scheduled for another surgery. I can't believe that you carried the engine stand all the way from the parking lot. Please know that you, Lisa and Mitchell are in my prayers. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Regards, Neil Mylar

Dave,

Your on the down hill pull; glad your back home. You are in my thoughts and prays.

See you in San Diego; trying to get A1276 done and believe I'll make it.

You take care and get well fast,

Ron

Dave. Six years ago, I was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer with tumers and masses all over my body. I had pneumonia and my left lung was non funtional. The Dr. walked in after the x-rays and told me that it wasn't good and that I had better call someone and get my affairs in order. After 5 months of chemo, I was in remission and thought I had beaten the system. Then I got the second blow, which occured on a Model A trip with the club. I felt very strange and almost couldn't drive my car. Finally I got home after 5 days and after a few horrible months of trial and error was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease. My immune system was trying to kill me, slowly turning my lungs into scar tissue. With the best care at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles I survived both illnesses although I continue to take meds to control the immune system. This leaves my immune sytem low, so during the winter months I have to be really careful to not get a cold which could turn to pneumonia. I knew on the day this all began that it was just not my time to go. My Dr's tell me I have a great attitude, but I know it is my faith in my higher self that keeps me here. Today if you saw me you would not know I ever had a bad day in my life. It is a miracle I am still here. The best thing I ever did was share the story of my illnesses with all who would listen and be grateful to be here. Sharing was the best medicine for me, I didn't have to to it all by myself. I never felt so much caring and support in my entire life. I am a psychologist and continued to see my patients, I drove my Model A and talked to my buddies as often as I could, it was a tough time with lots of ups and downs. I know its a very trying time for you and your wife, have faith and tell your wife you love her every day. The two of you will be in my thoughts. Leslie Pam
