Manifold Torque?

I only ever install studs finger tight. It’s something I learned long ago. I can see from some years ago that not everyone knows about this.

Since the manifolds and block may not be perfectly true(straight), tighten the inner two first, then the outer two next. Do this in increments to your final torque. This will help to eliminate breaking the manifold by not trapping the potential gap.

My vote on torque is 35 pounds which I have used for over fifty plus years. I think those who do 55 are correlating to head studs/nuts which are the same size but are subjected to compression.
