Car of "parts."

Front bumper.

About 1940 Dad bought a 29' RPU from the junk man - for $25.

Leaving for military service in 1943 he sold it back to the junk man - for $25.

"Best car deal I ever had" he said.

This Model A looks like a 1930 Standard Roadster with sealed beam headlights. Judging by the suit, the glasses and hair style worn by this man, I'd say the photo was taken just before WWII or right after it began and this guy was getting ready to go off into the service. Hence, a good-bye remembrance photo with his prized possession. A wild guess, but the aged condition and modifications done to the car combined with the owner's sartorial appearance makes this an educated wild guess.
