My Mallory dual point (new) was rattling the engine out of the box. Checked it out and the advance curve was more like an SBC curve. Recurved it and good to go. Its a common issue with these dual point Mallory's.
Later on I set up an MSD box hidden up under the dash, removed the secondary point in the Mallory and used the primary point in the dist to trigger the box. The black MSD blaster 2 coil looks like a stock one and been running it like this for 7 yrs ...works brilliantly and looks like a std Mallory dissy.
