Mallory Distributor timing

I have a 2300 series Mallory distributor on my engine. One day I got bored, or stupid, and started messing with the springs that set the timing curve. I have several colored springs. In my stupidity I didn't keep the original springs to the side. Now I have misfiring at about 2500RPM. Do any of you that run a Mallory, know what the color of the origional springs are. I need to put it back to the factory curve. And then leave it alone. Thanks for any help.

Just a guess, they're probably the strongest pair of springs.

The last one that I bought came from Berts. They can tell you whatever you need to know and probably have the parts call 800-321-1931

Try posting this on the EV8 forum, fellow there goes by "BUBBA'S", ignition/distributor shop, does mallory's. Won't hurt to ask.

I would need to re adjust the springs using a machine . Send it to me , can return the day i get it . A's are a little touchy as the springs are tough to adjust at 2500 rpm etc.
Really shouldnt need new springs as the tabs are adjustable by bending etc.
Glad to help we charge $48 plus shipping......

Good info.
I have a 31 Coupe with a banger and am in the market for a old Mallory to fit my build.
Is the 2300 what I need? Anyone know where I can find one?

There is an old type Mallory distributor that has a cap that is 2 parts and screwa together. No new parts are availbale for that one. The 2300 series is new and made for the model A. Just search Mallory.

I have had a fellow offer me a dual point Mallory that has been curved for 28 degrees at 3000 rpm. Would this be good for my stock A engine? I know the red line is about 2500 so im not sure what this distributer is set up for. Probably a B engine?
Also what type of coil would I need to make this thing work??
