Tearing down a 1930 enigne today and notice something why would someone install a pin in the middle of center main bearing it is deep engouh so not to hit the crank but why the other mains did not have this, thanks al
Sounds like a method to lock the bearing in place. Perhaps a loose babbit pour? People did crazy things in those days. Amazing how much of it got them by....
