Magicaire Heater

Mine was dealer installed in '59. Since the car was bought in Miami, I guess it was considered an option. Does it work with a heater core off the engine cooling system? Or is there an electric element ?

Heater core under the dash, passenger side. If you remove the duct between the blower and the firewall you can see it.

There used to be hoses to it from the engine but if the heater core leaked they were likely replaced with a shorter loop of hose at the front of the engine.

So would they have installed all that at the dealer? or just the controls ?

The dealers could install it, it would have been a pretty simple job. A "heater delete" car would have had none of the parts associated with the heater. The heater was in kit form.
