Macs

It would seem like the suggestion above to send a PM to one of the MAC's guys that signed on to this site would be the thing to do if you have a question for them. Rather than making comments about them like our current media does on everything. Give them a chance. They do have a business to run and can't be on this site every hour of the day like some on this site.

I could not agree with you more. Please remember that the two employees have other assigned duties other than to wait for a Fordbarn complaint. I think it is time we lightened up and gave them a fair chance. Wayne

I don't deal with Mac's at all but keep in mind they are selling and shipping a lot of other parts beside Model A. Yes they could hire more help but somebody (us) is going to pay for that in some manner. If you think their shipping is bad I was in the feed business for thirty years and if you didn't deliver the day it was ordered you better have a damn good reason.

Every business is different. Their policies are different, their shipping methods are different, their billing methods are different, their products are different, etc. So if your requirements are not in line with their policies, then find a vendor that matches what you need. But remember every company is different and they do things differently. You have choices, so take them and stop complaining about a company that does not do business the way you think they should. There are a number of great vendors in the Model A business. So find the ones that you want to do business with and forget complaining about the other ones.

I just received an order from Mac's I ordered 11 small items and the shipping was $10.00 and change.. I didn't think that was much out of line.

they also have a very tight return policy

Thank you for mentioning this Mitch as it a big problem I had with Macs. I ordered a rear carpet for our 31 sedan. They wanted $200 plus freight, well too much, but my wife wanted the ugly one replaced. It's ordered. It comes in. It's wrong - too small by half. Phone calls and emails about the error all went no where. Run around big time. This went on for months and has never been resolved.

Macs #%?¥€#. Did I spell that right.

this is also copied off there website regarding same day shipping , and paying an extra fee for same day processing.. there is a daily time limit

orders placed before 12 noon Eastern Standard Time Monday through Friday can be given a higher priority in our system for a small additional fee . MAC's will make its best effort to ship the order on the same day, however we cannot guarantee this due to the volume of orders

Yea sorry guys we've had a few projects come up pretty fast we've been working on lately. Whole new computer system coming in to better help serve you guys.

Thanks Scott for posting your efforts.

I think the members of this site need to consider their postings on this site when they have "problems" with a vendor. Consider what you are doing. For example, say a small vendor messed up and did not do what the customer of theirs "thought" they should have done. In posting your "dirty laundry" on this site you can run that small vendor out of business very quickly. Whether the gripe was valid or not, this is not the place to post your efforts working with any vendor. You could cause a very good vendor to go out of business very quickly.

Go to that vendor directly and get things worked out. If that vendor does not work out your problem, you have various legal options available to you to get your problem solved. Also Better Business Bureau is around to help out also. Also from a legal standpoint, that vendor can use the postings you put on this site to sue you for all you are worth and then some if they have a good lawyer that can "prove" you are in the wrong.

So guys and gals, think about what you are doing and lets have some positive postings for all of us to enjoy.

P.S. I am not trying to make the vendor in question a good or bad vendor. I am just talking about what should be done in a case of a potential problems with a vendor.

Why would I pay Macs extra to have my order go out the same day when I call Brattons or Snyder's and that's a guarantee to already happen?. Sounds like a scam to me.

I've tried to stay out of this, but...
I've tried [ and have quite a bit] to use the 'old' Macs because they were so close. For big orders I would drive there. But, they were a real PITA to deal with if there was a problem and there were a lot of problems. The other vendors were far better.

However, I have not tried the 'new' Macs. So, I would try them and wait to see what happens. But, since I've had such good service from the other fairly close vendors I like to be loyal to them.

I sign off this post. You all may be happy for that.

It won't make me happy Fred. Some people simplly go by the saying, " don't confuse Me with the facts, I've made up my mind"! What you said made good sense and that was not what some wanted to hear. Good work Fred ! Wayne

My logic is plain, why call a plumber if I have an electrical problem, why go to Pizza Hut if I want a burger. Mac's does not specialize in strictly Model A, whereas others do. If Mac wants to cover parts for Fords from 1909 thru to the 1970s, that's fine but I'd rather go to those who specialize in A parts. Mac's will no doubt, by having such a wide range of Ford model parts, will lose some customers to others who devote their expertise to strictly Model As.
