Mac's shipping

Recently, there have been some complaints on the 'barn about the slow shipping from Mac's. For what it is worth, I ordered a list of items Monday and received the order the following Thursday, three states away! I didn't pay any premium for rush shipping. And, everything was there (no back orders). Maybe after all the grumbling they instituted some needed changes. :)

Same here I ordered parts from Mac's many times and taking 7 days or more to Phoenix Arizona I am patient no problem.

As with any mail ordered items the more urgent it needs to get to you the longer it seems to take. Obviously some things take longer than anticipated but alot of times it is beyond anyone's control. Try sending something out to get chromed! It's a lesson in planning ahead!

I've had some issues with parts going 3 hours away. Just placed an order two weeks ago on a Thursday first thing in the morning. Order didn't arrive until Tuesday, and shipping cost was almost $90! The box was only the size of a copy paper box, and weight was not that much. Makes me wonder if they are trying to keep prices low by upcharging shipping. I wouldn't care as much...but I also placed an order at Midwest on the same day, same time, and had those parts arrive in just 2 days from three states away! Fed up and frustrated with Mac's....

I'm lucky I guess. Carline Mfg which is local will order anything from Macs and no shipping charge, just pay sales tax. Carline sells to Macs. Paul will also accept returns from leftover parts if it is something he keeps in stock. He won't accept v8 parts back however. However, even wholesale orders ship slow for some reason. Oh well, you can't rush a restoration!

I ordered on a Monday the part arrived Thursday fo the same week. On the other hand, I shipped parts UPS on a Monday that were supposed to arrive that were supposed to arrive in 4 day, ( Tennessee to Calif.) They arrived 12 days later. Would you like some cheese with that whine?

jal9846 - ???????????????????????? Why are you complaining on Fordbarn about shipping cost? Don't you ask the vendor when you order?

I am a happy camper with Mac's, Bob Drake and Van Pelt's. I have been treated well by all of them. I have also purchased items from the Swap Meet here on Fordbarn and all with positive results. Matter of fact I have bought many items from eBay and was well pleased with them. A couple of years ago I bought a good `35 radiator on eBay for $20 plus shipping. I really have no complaints.

I placed an order at Macs and it took over a week to get here. I was pretty disappointed with their service. Then the entire order was not included. They sent the missing items with no additional freight charges.

I can order on Monday from Bert's, Sacramental, Speedway and Snyder and receive the items by Wednesday or Thursday.

I think Mac tries to get you to pay that extra charge to speed up your order by delaying shipments. If they processed everybody's order as they were placed there would be a lot more happy customers. I think the extra charge for filling your order before other customers is a rip off and a big scam.

If I can avoid ordering from Mac, I will from now on.
