Luggage trunk

While cleaning out a barn, I came across a car luggage trunk. The trunk measures 19" high x 18" deep x 38" wide. I'm not sure what car this trunk came off of or what car it will fit on. Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't be to quick to sell this until you know what you have. If you could find the key to the trunk, that would perhaps provide a clue as to the make of the trunk and that would be a good start.

The curved back indicates that the trunk mates up to the back panel of the car. Similar to a potter trunk.

If I were able to walk out to the garage, I would measure the base of my 35-36 luggage rack, when it's in the down position to see how well your trunk might fit. The 38" dimension may be a bit on the long side to fit my rack.
I bought a nice Keri-Keen trunk to use on my 35 slantback sedan so we would have more storage space on long distance driving tours. Then last month I bought a trunk something like yours, that will mount on my luggage rack, so will probably go with that now. This trunk needs some new hardware, like hinges, locks, handles and leather straps, but I found a on-line source that sells any type of luggage trunk hardware you would ever want or need. I'll post some pics of this trunk later tonight or tomorrow. I would think if you did not plan to use your trunk, you would not have any problems selling it.

You could also post those pics on the AACA website, possibly someone over there could identify it. I believe there's usually a manufactures tag or info scribed onto them also. The 38" dimension may indicate it was for a larger car than our Fords.
