low speed shimmy

Most likely loose spindle body bolts/bushings but could also be loose tie rod bolts/bushings and/or loose spring shackles & bushings. Might check the toe-in also - 3/16" to 1/4".

Is it a front wheel shimmy or a general vibrating? I ask because the two things 1: a front end shimmy and 2: vibrating only when hitting the brake don't relate. That is they've got nothing to do with each other as in hitting the brake couldn't cause the front end to shake. You need to do a bit more checking as to what's actually going on.

Ops your right. By applying the brakes has nothing to do with a shimmy. I was thinking of a model a. A model t has no front brakes! So there's something worn in the front end.

Good luck with your venture as I have the same problem on a Model A though but I'm going to watch yours and see what it was as I more or less have to go through every part of the front on mine but I hope mine is a simple tightening a bolt or two instead of something major wrong with it.
Good luck again

the first thing I would check is the air pressure in the front tires. Although underlying issues mentioned above are most likely, I have found that even slightly under inflated tires will accentuate the problem.
